Summary and Online Registration
With executive buy-in, employee input, and clear metrics for success, a project management office (PMO) can transform a company's business results. Denise Callahan, The Doe Run Company's PMO Manager, will share how the company's award-winning function allows the company to more efficiently complete complex projects on time and under budget.
Some of those tips include:
- Receiving input from employees: A cross-functional team can help identify the "what's in it for me" opportunities that can drive PMO adoption.
- Creating clear metrics for success: Decide how success will be measured, and record baseline measurements to track the company's progress.
- Understanding organizational culture and structure: End-user adoption of new processes is the key to success. Customizing implementation processes to the organization makes it easier for employees to accept and use them.
The presentation will also cover how portfolio management at Doe Run leads to selection of the projects with the greatest positive return for the company.
